First week reflection
The first week of the semester was all about learning about what we were going to do during the 3rd semester and to get to know each other. We were tasked with making groups of 5 to 6 people. The important part of this task is that we had to choose people that we didn't know yet and that had different skills. This was to ensure that we had a skill for almost everything.
My thoughts
The idea of getting to know each other more by doing tasks sounds great, but in reality I think you don't need a separate week for that. What I would have liked more is to just get started with what the semester had to offer in the first week. I thought this too in semester 2 when I had to redo it. We had an opening week there too but the problem with this is that you tend to look for people you already know and not go for people you don't know. To combat this there have to be groups already made in advance instead of you choosing who you want to be with.
The content of the first week was okay. I didn't particularly feel like I learned any important skills during this first week. This because it was more for team building and getting to know each other. If you look at my business card you can see that it's mostly something I put together quick because we had to use it the very next day. I didn't really have the chance to do some research on what makes a great business card or to make any iterations of designs due to the time constraints.
